Jordan Henderson who is the captain of Premier League champions Liverpool has stated emphatically that him ans his teammates were disappointed with their home defeat against Manchester City FC.

Pep Guardiola and his wards were superbly impressive at Anfield on Sunday, February 7, as they inflicted a 4-1 painful defeat on Jurgen Klopp and his players.

Liverpool went into this game with the hope of closing the gap between them and rivals Manchester City, but the Reds suffered a defeat and the Citizens have established 10-point lead.

Liverpool's defeat was their second in a row at Anfield after they were beaten by Brighton in midweek.

According to the report on Mirror, Jordan Henderson explained that hope is not lost for Liverpool this season in their fight to retain their Premier League title.

"Very disappointed with the result of course. I don't think the end result reflected the performance to be honest but we made mistakes and got punished.
"We competed well - this was more like the performance we are used to but like I say mistakes at the wrong moments cost us."

Meanwhile, Liverpool are currently occupying fourth position on the Premier League table with 40 points and the Reds will be facing Leicester City in their next game.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Manchester City star Ruben Dias sparked up reactions among the club fans after pulling Alexander Zinchenko by his neck in a bid to form a wall during their 4-1 triumph over Liverpool.

The 23-year-old centre-back while trying to arrange his teammates to defend the Reds' free-kick at the edge of his side's 18-yard box felt his colleague was not being urgent enough.

Pep Guardiola's men built a five-man wall with Zinchenko lying on the ground behind it but Dias decided to position the Ukrainian himself with a surprisingly brutal yank of the neck.

Zinchenko went along with his teammate as he did not say a word back to him, who already faced up to the free-kick with the score at 0-0.
