Pastor Adeboye offers powerful prayer for new service chiefs

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has called on God to put an end to banditry and all forms of violence in Nigeria.

Adeboye made this prayer on Sunday, February 7, during a service in which he also urged his congregation to strictly adhere to COVID-19 protocols.

The renowned Christian cleric prayed that God should miraculously use the new service chiefs appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari to defeat Boko Haram, The Nation reports.

His words:

“Pray that it will be well with Nigeria. I am crying unto you on behalf of our nation Nigeria, please, God have mercy on Nigeria. In your own miraculous way use the new Service Chiefs for your glory.
“Father help them. I pray Lord God almighty because everything that has a beginning must have an end. Let terrorism be over soon in Nigeria.
“Whatever you have to do Lord God almighty to bring peace, progress, prosperity, and joy to our nation father do it very quickly.”

Meanwhile, a human rights lawyer and security expert, Philip Agbese, had said that the efforts put into the fight against insurgency and criminality in Nigeria by the service chiefs are commendable.

The London-trained lawyer said Nigeria has indeed made substantial progress in the prosecution of the war against insurgency in the country and contributed immensely to the global war against terrorism.

In a statement signed by the lawyer and seen by Legit.ng, the lawyer said the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance Day is indeed a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by Nigerian soldiers in preserving the nation's territorial integrity.
