Ogunlesi, a communications and public policy expert, reeled out the policy, and they are:

1. Nigeria’s new visa policy allows Nigerians living abroad (who do not have a valid Nigerian passport) to visit home on a foreign passport - using the visa on arrival process. (You get an F9A visa)

2. You must have proof of registration with the Nigerian Embassy where you are based. (You’ll need to have some proof of being Nigerian - ID, birth certificate, etc)

3. The F9A visa will not permit a stay exceeding 90 days though, and is permitted for social and business visits.

4. You can also get the visa at the Embassy in your location, but the key point is that a visa-on-arrival pathway is an option.

Recall that a popular Twitter handle focused on projecting positive stories about Nigeria recently shared a list of 44 countries Nigerians can visit without necessarily obtaining a visa before travelling.

The countries include Senegal, Togo, Georgia, Ghana, Bangladesh, Somalia, Iran, Maldives, Seychelles, Kenya, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Gambia, Mali, Madagascar, Guinea, etc.

Meanwhile, President Buhari has named Dr. Uzoma Emenike as Nigeria’s Ambassador-designate to the United States of America.

Emenike from Abia state is currently the Nigerian Ambassador to Ireland, with concurrent accreditation to Iceland.
