Chief Bisi Akande, former Osun state governor, has faulted the creation of the caretaker committee for the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC).

Akande, who spoke on Wednesday, February 3, at the APC (2021) membership registration and revalidation exercise in Ila Orangun, said the creation of the caretaker committee is an abnormality.

He further stressed that if not controlled or expeditiously managed, the caretaker committee may end up becoming a disgrace, This Day reports.

The decision to sack the ruling party's former working committee boiled down to the leadership crisis bedevilling the APC and different feuds and controversies in which Oshiomhole was embroiled with.

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state has since taken over as the de facto chairman of the national working and planning committee -- a development Akande, a pioneer national chairman of the APC, described as "indefensible aberration."

Addressing pressmen after the revalidation exercise, Akande tasked the planning committee to wake up to the challenges in the party and ensure that it resists temptations that usually characterised most handpicked authorities.

Akande also described as disheartening that the ruling party does not have a "well-computerised register for more than 120,000 polling units across Nigeria."

According to him, APC must wake up to the "comprehension and matrix of the modern-day technology."
