COVID-19: Take vaccine or die, FG warns Nigerians

- The federal government has said that the COVID-19 vaccine is the only way to overcome the virus

- In fact, the PTF chairman, Boss Mustapha, has said that without the vaccine, a lot of Nigerians may die

- Mustapha also disclosed that countries across the world will start to require proof of the vaccine before granting entry to migrants and travellers

There is a great danger that a lot of Nigerians may fall very sick and die if they reject the COVID-19 vaccine.

This fear was raised by Boss Mustapha, the chairman of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) on Tuesday, February 2, during a briefing in Abuja, PM News reports.

Mustapha made it clear that the proposed remedies are safe and of great benefit to citizens as they try to cope with the global pandemic and thus dismissed conspiracy theory claims that vaccines were created to kill Africans.

Moreover, the PTF boss revealed that very soon proof of the vaccine will be required before persons will be allowed to travel and accepted into countries.

His words:

‘‘We will appeal and explain to our people that if you do not take the vaccine, the danger of falling terribly sick and eventually dying is there.
‘‘We will be blunt to them that if you don’t take the COVID-19 vaccine, you may not be able to go anywhere in the world, very soon. Even when you want to go and perform your spiritual obligation, that will be subjected to your COVID-19 status.’’

Meanwhile, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCD) had said that the rate of infection in each state was the criterion to be used in the distribution of the vaccine.

Legit.ng gathered that the plan alongside the publication of the latest infection rates for the disease was published by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control (NCDC) on its verified website on Saturday, January 9.

NCDC said it recorded 1,585 new infections of the deadly coronavirus with additional eight coronavirus-related deaths on that day.
