Embattled Premier League side Fulham have announced the signing of Nigerian striker Josh Maja on loan from French side Bordeaux until the end of the ongoing 2020/21 season.
Fulham have not been impressive this season in the Premier League as the club are fighting to avoid relegation which has put manager Scott Parker under serious pressure.
Aleksandar Mitrovic has been struggling for form this season for Fulham which made the club's chiefs to bring in Josh Maja so as for the Nigerian to help them get goals.
John Maja on the other hand is not new to the club as he spent three years at Fulham's Academy from the age of 11 before he left.
According to the statement made available by Fulham, the club explained that Josh Maja is one of the best strikers in the world who is expected to help them this term.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Josh Maja from Bordeaux on loan.
“The 22-year-old striker will remain with Fulham for the remainder of the 2020/21 campaign, with an option for the deal to be made permanent.”
The Nigerian player also expressed happiness for his loan move to Premier League side Fulham. He said:
"I’m really excited and proud to sign for Fulham on loan for the remainder of the season."
"This is a big opportunity and I look forward to meeting up with the team and working hard to achieve positive results."
Meanwhile, Josh Maja has been able to play one game for the Super Eagles which was against Ukraine in an international friendly game.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa confirmed that his sports complex in Kaduna has been opened to all in the environment.
The 28-year-old attacker recently completed another multi-million naira facility in the northern part of the country, barely two years after opening the Kano outfit.
This facility has a mini football pitch and other indoor and outdoor equipment for the use of individuals and groups of people.
Musa dropped the development on his Instagram stories, February 1, calling on his fans to make use of the ultra-modern initiative for their own good.
Musa is not allowing his no-club status at the moment to hinder his love and support for his people while he gives back to the same environment he grew up in.
