Though campaigns are yet to commence in Nigeria, posters carrying photographs of Yahaya Bello, governor of Kogi state, and his presidential ambition, are said to have flooded some parts of northern Nigeria.

A report by The Nation indicates that some of the posters were seen displayed in major places in Damaturu, capital of Yobe state.

According to the report, the posters were transported to the state late Friday, January 29, and were placed in strategic areas of the state capital.

Bello's party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), is yet to zone the presidential ticket to any part of the country, but the south-west and the south-east are already agitating for it.

The report, however, quoted Aji Bularafa, a political adviser to Governor Mai Mala Buni, who has been leading the APC since the exit of Adams Oshiomhole as chairman, as saying Bello may not be aware of the posters.

He also said it was too early for anyone to start campaigning ahead of 2023.

Bularafa reportedly advised Governor Bello to concentrate on delivering on his promises to the people of his state instead of distracting himself with a presidential ambition.

He was as saying:

“Governor Yayaha Bello has every right as a Nigerian to contest for the president of the country but I think it is too early.
“He has more than two years as a governor to serve his people because his election was in November, 2019.
