- Shkodran Mustafi has been linked with a move to Premier League champions Liverpool
- Liverpool are currently in serious defensive crisis this term after injuries to Dijk and Gomez
- Jurgen Klopp wants to bring an experienced defender to the side before the transfer window closes
Liverpool are reportedly interested in the signing of Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi as Klopp wants to solve his defensive crisis this month.
Jurgen Klopp has been battling to cope with the absence of Joe Gomez and Virgil Van Dijk who have both been out of action after sustaining injuries.
The German is now planning to raid the Emirates stadium to sign Mustafi before the January 2020 transfer window closes.
Liverpool have been linked with a host of potential targets to come in and ease their issues at the back, such as Lille’s Sven Botman and RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano – though neither club are likely to sell during January.
But after Klopp admitted that Liverpool would continue to explore options, a new and rather surprising target is now Mustafi.
Having being frozen out of the first team at Arsenal by Mikel Arteta, Mustafi has not played any Premier League game this season and he is having six months left on his deal.
Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Liverpool who are reigning Premier League champions have beaten rivals Manchester United to the signing of Derby County youngster Kaide Gordon as Wayne Rooney will now be looking for a replacement for the Englishman.
It was in December 29 last year that Kaide Gordon played his first game for Derby County against Birmingham thereby becoming the fourth youngest player to play for the Championship side.
His performance in the game invited the interest of Liverpool and Manchester United as these two big clubs want the youngster to continue his football career in the topflight.
According to the report, Wayne Rooney who is the gaffer of Derby County explained that the club have tried for Kaide Gordon to stay, but the player rejected the deal.
