Thomas Tuchel who is the gaffer of Premier League giants Chelsea has made it clear that it is his job to get the best out of German striker Timo Werner.

Since joining Chelsea before the start of the ongoing Premier League season, Timo Werner has not been impressive for the Blues in all competitions netting nine goals.

Timo Werner's lack of form also contributed to the sacking of Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge before he was replaced by Tuchel.

Tuchel explained that he failed to start Timo against Wolves in his first game in charge of Chelsea because he was not sure of his confidence.

He however insisted that Werner will come good and he says his body language and the fact he looks so worried is a good thing because it shows he cares.

“Sometimes as a striker it does not help if you care a lot. Sometimes as a striker it’s better to not care at all. But he’s not that guy. He cares and he’s not happy with himself and with the way things went lately.
“Right now it’s important to rebuild his trust in himself and to find a smile on his face and stop doubting too much. It’s my job to do this, to help him with this and then to find also a position where we can use his strengths.”

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Chelsea handler Frank Lampard sent Thomas Tuchel a message after the German tactician took over the helms of affairs at the Stamford Bridge.

Lampard was axed at the club following series of dismal performances leaving them ninth on the Premier League standings and replaced by Tuchel.

Fans of the club are divided by Lampard’s dismissal but Tuchel has stated that the former coach has wished him well on the job.

And a short video clip shows that the former Paris Saint Germain handler may need a little more time to get himself familiar with the players to call their names correctly.

The footage showed the manager at the start of the second half of his side's game against Wolves handing captain Cesar Azpilicueta an instruction.
