Boko Haram, bandits in trouble as Nigerian army deploys 100 female soldiers to northern state
- An all female troop numbering at least 100 has been deployed to Kaduna state by the Nigerian Army

The Nigerian Army has deployed 100 female soldiers to Kaduna state as part of efforts to address insecurity in the northern state.
Legit.ng gathered that this was made known on Wednesday, January 27, in a tweet from the Twitter handle of the Kaduna state government.
According to the tweet, the all-female troops were deployed to complement security patrols on the Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

They were received in Kaduna state peronally by Governor Nasir El-Rufai and Hadiza Balarabe, the deputy governor at their Kakau base on the highway.
Both El-Rufai and Balarabe expressed gratitude to the military for deploying the troops and assured them of the continued support of the Kaduna government as they work for security in the state.
Major-General US Mohammed, GOC 1 Division on his part acknowledged the support of Kaduna state government to the military in its internal security operations.

Armed bandits attack on Kaduna expressway
Earlier, Legit.ng reported that suspected armed bandits killed an eight-month pregnant health worker along the Kaduna-Birnin Gwari highway, after opening fire on a commercial vehicle travelling to the state.
The woman was killed while traveling to Kaduna from Birnin Gwari at a place called Zankoro before Unguwar Yako on Sunday, January 24.
It was gathered that the bandits opened fire on the commercial vehicle around noon in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
Bandits kill four villagers in Kaduna community
Recall that armed bandits killed four people in Katarma village, Chikun local government area of Kaduna, as the northwest state comes under intense siege from the criminal gangs.
The incident was disclosed in a statement seen by Legit.ng on Thursday, January 7 issued by Samuel Aruwan, the Kaduna state commissioner for internal security and home affairs.
Aruwan said the bandits were initially engaged by local vigilantes who defended the village before troops were mobilised to the location.
