Zlatan Ibrahimovic has denied racially abusing former Manchester United teammate Romelu Lukaku during their Coppa Italia quarter-final meeting at the San Siro earlier this week.

Both strikers clashed during the game which ended 2-1 in favour of Antonio Conte's men with Christian Eriksen striking the winner through a stoppage-time free-kick.

The 39-year-old Swede broke the deadlock for his side in the 31st minute but a spot-kick from Lukaku restored parity in the 71st minute. And then the former Spurs star scored the winner.

Meanwhile, Zlatan defended himself saying he only made reference to the owner of Everton Farhad Moshiri who claimed the Belgian visited a witch doctor in Africa and consequently rejected an extension due to a 'voodoo message' as reported by Daily Mail.

Moshiri said in January 2018 and barely six months after Lukaku joined Manchester United in a deal valued around £75 million.

"We offered him a better deal than Chelsea and his agent came to Finch Farm to sign the contract.
"Robert [Elstone, Everton's chief executive] was there, everything was in place, there were a few reporters outside, then in the meeting Rom called his mother.
"He said he was on a pilgrimage in Africa or somewhere and he had a voodoo and he got the message that he needs to go to Chelsea."

Lukaku was also said to have used vulgar words while insulting the Swede's mother on their way back to the dressing room for the half-time pep talk.

Meanwhile, Ibrahimovich could only last 13 minutes after resumption for a second bookable offence after tripping Inter defender Aleksandar Kolarov.

Legit.ng earlier reported that the historical Milan derby lived up to its billing on Tuesday night, January 26, with Romelu Lukaku clashing with former Man United teammate Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Both strikers found the back of the net for either side during the Coppa Italia encounter won 2-1 by Inter Milan. Ibrahimovic handed Milan the lead in the first half before he was sent off just before the hour mark.

Lukaku drew Inter level later on in the second half from the penalty spot, with Christian Eriksen striking the winner in the closing stages of the tie.
