Insecurity: Fayose blasts Lai Mohammed, says Nigerians are not interested in comparison

Ayodele Fayose has berated the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed following his claim that the security situation in Nigeria is better now than when President Muhammadu Buhari took over in 2015.

The Ekiti state governor expressed his dissatisfaction with the statement credited to the minister regarding Nigeria's security in Twitter rants on Tuesday, January 26, sighted by Legit.ng.

According to him, Nigerians are not interested in comparing what happened before 2015 with what is happening now.

Fayose also said it is regrettable that Mohammed can defend insecurity in the country, adding that the All Progressives Congress (APC) has failed to secure Nigerians.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that the war against insecurity is been prosecuted diligently by our security forces.

This was disclosed by the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, on Monday, January 25, at a press conference attended by Rauf Aregbesola, minister of interior.

The minister said that the armed forces, the police, and other security and intelligence agencies are ramping up their efforts to enhance the security of lives and property across the country, and the results are beginning to show.

Meanwhile, Fayose picked holes in the commitment of the current government to end the security crisis in the country, with the former Ekiti state governor saying President Buhari lacked the "capacity to rule Nigeria."

The former governor expressed his dissatisfaction with the Buhari government's handling of security on Saturday, January 16.

According to him, the country is not safe contrary to the assurance of improved security given by the current government. Fayose also slammed the service chiefs, describing them as "obsolete" as security continues to worsen in the northern region of the country.
