As Chelsea set to appoint former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel as replacement for ousted Frank Lampard, super computer has predicted that the Blues will finish in 6th position at the end of the season.

The Stamford Bridge outfit must prepare for a tough second half of the season after sacked Lampard left them in ninth position.

Confidence in the team visibly plummeted and the manager was heavily criticised over the situation at the club which dates back to their earlier loss to Manchester City.

Reports from the Stamford Bridge have it that Chelsea are desperately searching for an experienced manager following their poor run of form in the Premier League.

And according to stats on bettingexpert.com via Daily Star, Chelsea might not qualify for the Europa league next season as they are predicted to finish 6th.

Although the position would mark an improvement over the current position, finishing behind each of Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham and Leicester would be seen as failure.

When the club announced that Lampard had left on Monday, they left him with a parting dig that suggested he never would have been able to turn their form around.

Meanwhile, England football legend Gary Lineker has taken issue with Chelsea's decision to sack Frank Lampard as manager.

Lampard was shown the door earlier on Monday, January 25, just hours after leading the Blues to the fifth round of the FA Cup.

According to the west London club, the decision to relieve the former midfielder his duties was a difficult one to make, but were left with no choice but to take it after he failed to show "a clear path" out of mid-table.

Despite a summer spending spree amounting to more than £200million, Lampard failed to assemble a strong side that can competitively participate in the top-flight.

However, Legit.ng earlier reported that Premier League club Manchester United have dropped out of the top three in the new list of top 10 richest clubs according to finance experts Deloitte.

Latest findings show that the pandemic has affected football clubs across the globe financially as £1.05bn was knocked off income for the leading 20 European clubs last year.

According to Deloitte, TV revenues will be impacted in 2021 as well as fans are not expected back in the stands until next season.
