Heartbreak for PDP as Fayose's ally joins Fayemi in APC, gives reasons

Dr Tope Aluko, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti state, has decamped to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Aluko parted ways with the party on Monday, January 25, saying he is ready to work for Governor Kayode Fayemi who he disclosed has "favoured Iyin Ekiti" where he hails from.

A former secretary of Ekiti PDP, Aluko is a known loyalist of the former governor Ayodele Fayose.

The former PDP chieftain was formally received by the APC state chairman, Paul Omotoso, in his ward B secretariat in Iyin Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area of the state.

While speaking after his reception, Aluko said he is ready to abide by the disciplines and principles of the APC and ensure that the party wins the coming guber election, Daily Sun reports.

"If you are from Iyin Ekiti, you will know that Governor Kayode Fayemi really favoured us in elective and appointive positions, so I am coming to add value to this party. I am not here to cause trouble.
"They have given me the guidelines and I am ready to abide by it in the interest of discipline in our party."

Meanwhile, Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, said he is not ready to leave his party, the PDP and run into a "problem."

The governor reiterated his commitment and loyalty to the opposition party amid high-flying rumours and rising speculations linking him to the ruling blocks, All Progressives Congress.
