Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has insisted that there is no cause for alarm despite his side's recent poor run of results in all competitions.

The Reds were dumped out of the FA Cup championship at the fourth round stage following their 3-2 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford.

A goal each from Mason Greenwood, Marcus Rashford, and Bruno Fernandes saw the Red Devils outshine their Premier League rivals in the cup competition.

However, Mohamed Salah's brace was not enough to help his side avoid their second straight defeat within four days.

The Merseyside outfit has now failed to win any of their last five games with their last victory coming after beating Aston Villa 4-1 on January 8.

Their 1-0 defeat to Burnley at Anfield on Thursday, January 21 pushed them to fourth on the table with six points behind log leaders Manchester United. However, Klopp was quoted by Daily Mail saying:

"For the first goal we had no protection, we wanted it too much. Things like this should not happen. We had too many players in a receiving position.
"There were some mistakes around the goals. If you want to win here you have to be absolutely top and we were not.
"It's not what we wanted so it's frustrating. We scored twice and that's all okay, but they scored three."

Klopp and his red armies return to action this week against Tottenham Hotspur away from home and he has insisted that they will work on their lapses in the next game. He added

"If you are in a situation you don't like, you take steps to get out of it. We got everything right in recent years and made some mistakes. Don't worry about us, as a group we are really together and we have to solve it together.
"We are just in this moment and we try to win football games again. Tonight I didn't see any problems with confidence."

The German boss has some of his key players sidelined by injuries and this is playing a part in their performances in the second half of the season.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Jurgen Klopp will not win trophies for Liverpool, according to a Reds fan after the embarrassing defeat to Burnley at Anfield, Sport Bible.

The Merseysiders' remarkable three-year winning streak was stopped by visiting Burnley following Ashley Barnes' penalty.

And Klopp has blamed himself for his side's failure to score for a fourth consecutive Premier League game.
