Rashford went on to hand his side the lead shortly after the second half before Salah levelled matters.

However, the forward had to be withdrawn before the full-time whistle as he hobbled-off down the tunnel with Anthony Martial taking his place.

Solskjaer has now revealed Rashford will need a scan to establish the severity of his knee injury.

"Let's hope so," Ole told BBC Sport as cited by SunSport when asked if Rashford was okay.
"His knee was bothering him. So a scan tomorrow (on Monday, January 25) and we'll see where we are," he added.

With the scores level, Bruno Fernandes, who had been benched scored a stunning free-kick to guide United to victory.

Edinson Cavani also had a glorious chance to score in the closing stages of the tie but saw his powerful header come off the post.

They will now turn their focus to their upcoming Premier League tie against relegation-bound Sheffield United before their trip to Arsenal on Saturday, January 30.

Meanwhile, Georginio Wijnaldum has handed Barcelona a huge transfer boost as the midfielder is reportedly planning to reject a new Liverpool deal ahead of his move to Spain this year.

The Dutchman will run out of contract with the Premier League defending champions at the end of this season and all effort to persuade him to extend his reign at Anfield look impossible.

As it stands now, the 30-year-old has the liberty to negotiate with any club interested in his services when he leaves Anfield this summer.
