Breaking: FG accuses Dele Momodu of sharing fake news about herdsmen

Amid the tension with herders in Oyo and Ondo states, the federal government has accused veteran journalist and publisher of Ovation international magazine, Chief Dele Momodu of spreading false information about Fulani herdsmen.
Legit.ng gathered that the media mogul on Sunday, January 24, shared an old video on his verified Twitter page @DeleMomodu alleging that the federal government offered Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) N100 billion to stop the kidnapping in Nigeria.
However, the government in reaction to Momodu's tweet said the information contained in the video clip he posted is false.

This was made known in a tweet via the official Twitter handle of the federal government @NigeriaGov.
The presidency has since denied offering N100 billion naira to the cattle breeders association.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that following the alleged ultimatum given to herders in Oyo state by Chief Sunday Adeyemo, a popular Oke Ogun resident known as Sunday Igboho, Governor Seyi Makinde faulted the move.
Makinde explained that no one has the right to ask anyone else to leave any part of the country.
According to the governor, the common enemy of the people are hoodlums, cultists, armed robbers, kidnappers, and bandits not herders looking for pasture for their flock.

In a related development, Igboho dared the government of Oyo state to arrest him following his "leave" order to Fulani herders in Igangan community.
It was reported that Igboho on Friday, January 22, stormed the town in Ibarapa East local government area of Oyo state after the expiration of his seven-day ultimatum to the Fulani herders mandating them to vacate the community.
He had visited the community to issue quit notice to herdsmen residents in the area after accusing them of perpetrating criminal activities.
