Dayot Upamecano of Leipzig reportedly emerges as target for Man United

Dayot Upamecano who currently plays for German side RB Leipzig has reportedly emerged as main transfer target for Premier League duo of Manchester United and Liverpool.

The 22-year-old France international has been superb for RB Leipzig since he got into the first team and he is being rated as one of the best central defenders in Europe.

According to the report on Mirror, Jurgen Klopp who is the manager of Premier League champions Liverpool wants Dayot to be a cover up for Virgil Van Dijk.

Virgil Van Dijk has not played any Premier League game for Liverpool this year due to the injury he sustained, but the Reds are hopeful on a speedy recuperation.

Chelsea are also interested in Upamecano, while German giants Bayern Munich have stated their intention to try to keep him in the Bundesliga.

Manchester United thought they had struck a deal last summer after spending the previous year scouting the player.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney declared that he strongly feels the Red Devils will emerge Premier League champions this season.

Arnold made 18 crosses from open play with a zero per cent success rate and it did not locate any of his teammates.

According to Squawka, the 22-year-old has now become the only player in the English topflight division in the last five seasons to fail to reach a teammate in 12 attempts in a match.
