Paul Pogba may have been described as inconsistent by legendary Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.

The 42-year-old Englishman showered encomiums on the World Cup winner after scoring the winner for the Red Devils against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

Pogba also scored the only goal that handed them maximum points against Burnley at Turf Moor earlier in the year.

Rio who won six Premier League titles during his 12-year reign at Old Trafford was impressed with the Frenchman against Fulham. Daily Mail quoting BT Sport reported that:

"I think today he [Pogba] was brilliant, he did both sides well, defended well but created chances, the big difference is that he is playing quick, not dilly-dallying on ball, the efficiency he is playing well is amazing,"
"I don't think Ole completely trusts him in the centre of midfield with the pace that some sides counter with, so he plays him out of those area, but in this game, they felt they would dominate and so he can allow him to do it. One of the best when he is in this form.
"He loves the game, [he] wants to showcase his talent. I saw Pogba grow up, I saw his talent first-hand, I think he is capable of playing in the midfield [alongside Fernandes], if he has the players around him he can do it."

His goal against the Cottagers means Pogba's tally for United this campaign has risen to five in 24 appearances across competitions and with his recent form, he could add more in the course of the season.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Paul Pogba's unbeatable volley in the 71st minute was all Manchester United needed to beat Burnley at Turf Moor.

The victory ensured the Red Devils maintain their unbeaten run away from home in the Premier League this campaign.

Pogba wasted no time before smashing the ball into the back of the net after receiving a sumptuous delivery from Marcus Rashford from the right flank.
