Reece James is likely to return to Frank Lampard's first-team when they play Leicester City after recovering from a hamstring injury during Chelsea's Boxing Day loss to Arsenal, The Sun.

Ceasar Azpilicueta has been deployed to fill the void at right-back but Lampard could put the 21-year-old back into the fray.

James and Ben Chilwell are expected to play at the wing-backs while Thiago Silva and Kourt Zouma would be given the nod ahead of Antonio Rudiger.

Rudiger played all 90 minutes in the 1-0 win at Fulham but Zouma stands a better chance of staring against the Foxes.

N'Golo Kante is not expected to be fit for the game at the King Power Stadium despite serving a one-match ban, he is also recovering from injury.

Therefore, Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and Mason Mount could form the midfield trio in Lampard's usual 4-3-3 formation.

In the attack, Lampard could adopt a more pacy approach with the likes of Timo Werner playing in the middle of the pack while the left and right wings will be occupied by Christian Pulisic and Hakim Ziyech.

Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham will be on standby for a possible tactical change in the second half of the game.

Chelsea are seventh on the table and badly need a win to move above Everton in sixth position on the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Timo Werner missed a sitter and Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has advised the German striker to keep working on the training pitch to get those kinds of chances converted.

The 24-year-old has not scored for Chelsea in the last 12 matches until the FA Cup win over League Two side Morecambe.

The Germany international was brought on in the second half in the west London derby against Fulham but failed to find the back of the net.
