Amotekun chairman reveals identity of those working for kidnappers

A big allegation has been levelled against most commercial motorcyclists in Oyo by the chairman of the Oyo State Security Network, aka Amotekun Corps, Col. Kunle Togun (retd.).
According to him, most of the Okada riders in the state are spies for kidnappers and bandits.
He claimed that the criminals infiltrated the southwest through the various porous borders in the country.
Togun disclosed this during an interview with journalists at his office in Ibadan, Oyo state, on Monday, January 18, Punch reports.

According to him, investigation showed that the foreigners, who were ferried with trailers into Oyo state during the COVID-19 lockdown, could not speak any Nigerian language but French.
Meanwhile, Togun blamed Yoruba traditional rulers in the state for being part of the problem. He said the monarchs will accept gifts from the foreigners and allow them to settle in their land and wreak havoc on the people.
According to him, even if the foreigners are part of ECOWAS free movement law, there is still a limit they can stay in another country.
Recall that Legit.ng had reported that following concerns about how operatives of Amotekun carry out their operations Fatai Owoseni had said there was nothing wrong with officers empowering themselves with charms or other ways.
Owoseni who is the special adviser on security matters to Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state, made the disclosure on Wednesday, January 13.
The governor's aide's statement came on the heels of allegations of recklessness and extrajudicial killings leveled against the southwest security outfit.
Also, the commandant of Operation Amotekun denied the alleged clashes between his men and members of Miyetti Allah in Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun areas of Oyo state.
Olayanju said contrary to the alleged clashes reported by some media outfits, Amotekun and Miyetti Allah had a joint operation to tackle kidnappers in the state.
The state's security chief said his operatives raided the forests of Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun on Saturday, January 9, to rid the areas of kidnappers and other criminals.
