Daily Mail reports that the Etihad Stadium outfit is planning to spend a huge sum of £200 million when the transfer window opens at the end of this current campaign.

The publication claims City are planning for life after Sergio Aguero whose contract with them expires in June this year.

Borussia Dortmund youngster Erling Haaland is another name they have penned they have penned down for a possible transfer this summer.

Besides Aguero, Fernandinho and Eric Garcia are the other possible players who could leave the Etihad this season and the club is already making plans to replace them.

The Spanish defender is said to have agreed to rejoin Barcelona while Fernandinho might not be handed a new deal owing to his advanced age.

Last November, City were boosted by manager Guardiola's decision to extend his contract by two years to 2023 after growing speculation into his future.

The Spanish manager has won two Premier League titles since arriving at the Etihad Stadium in 2016, along with three Carabao Cup titles and the 2019 FA Cup.

City have also been linked with a move for Barcelona captain and global superstar Lionel Messi over the past six months, with the Argentinian's Nou Camp contract expiring this year.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Barcelona has joined in the race to sign Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero as he enters the last six months in his contract at the Etihad.

The Argentine international is free to talk to other clubs and Barca are keen on the former Atletico Madrid star.

The 32-year-old has not been offered a new contract at City and by the end of the season, he would have spent ten years with the Manchester-based club.
