Heated reactions from Nigerians as pigeons released by Buhari refuse to fly at Armed Forces remembrance

As Nigeria celebrates the 2021 Armed Forces Remembrance today, Friday, January 15, something dramatic happened which is drawing heated reactions from Nigerians on social media.

As it is the tradition, President Muhammadu Buhari opened the birdcage at the National Arcade, picked up one of the doves, and threw it into the air but the bird landed atop the cage and refused to fly.

The president opened the roof of the cage in a bid to send them all out but the birds refused to fly, forcing the president to return to his seat.

Though some of the pigeons later flew when President Buhari was on his way back to his seat, their refusal to fly when the president released them has attracted reactions on social media.
