Manchester United forward Bruno Fernandes has been named the Premier League Player for the Month of December, Sport Bible.

It is the 26-year-old's fourth accolade since joining the Red Devils in the 2020 January transfer window.

The Portuguese star has so far contributed immensely to United's rise to staying on top of the league table ahead of their fiercest rivals Liverpool.

The former Sporting Lisbon star scored four goals in six matches in December 2020, as he scooped the award for the fourth time.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side went unbeaten in the final month of the previous year, winning four games and drawing the other two.

The 26-year-old bagged a brace in the 6-2 thrashing of Leeds United and also scored in the 2-2 draw against Leicester City.

The Portugal international also provided four assists including the decisive pass to Marcus Rashford's winner against Wolves at Old Trafford.

Fernandes has scored 15 goals in 26 matches for the Red Devils in all competitions this season as Solskjaer's men travel to Anfield to play Liverpool over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that English and Manchester United goalkeeper Nathan Bishop has been hailed by Portugal international and club's teammate Bruno Fernandes after signing new deal.

Bishop Nathan actually joined the Red Devils from Southend in January 2020 and has already caught the eye of Old Trafford coaching crew under Ole Solskjaer.

Manchester United have handed the English goalkeeper improved terms in a contract which runs until 2023 with the option to extend for another year.

Legit.ng also reported that Bruno Fernandes' tenth goal of the season against Leicester City makes him the second Portuguese player after Cristiano Ronaldo to score ten goals in a Premier League campaign.

The 26-year-old has become an important member of Ole Gunnar Solskajer's side since his January 2019 move from Sporting Lisbon.

United's 2-2 draw at the King Power stadium takes his tally to 14 in all competitions this season and he does not look like stopping from there.
