One of such academic institutions is Lehigh University, in Pennsylvania, whose board of trustees on Friday, January 8, voted to revoke the honorary degree awarded to Trump back in 1988.

Meanwhile, the US' president-elect, Joe Biden, had reacted to the impeachment of Trump.

Trump was on Wednesday, January 13, impeached for the second time after he incited his followers to attack the Capitol in an effort to stop the certification of Biden's presidential election win.

Reacting on Thursday, January 14, Biden noted that after Trump's impeachment by the House of Representatives, the process of removing him from office would continue at the Senate.

The incoming US president expressed hope that the Senate will complete the process of convicting and removing Trump while it also works on other "urgent business of this nation".
