Jose Mourinho has lashed out at Fulham boss Scott Parker after lamenting their lack of preparation for their Premier League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs were originally meant to face Aston Villa but the game was cancelled due to the deadly coronavirus that has continued to ravage the world.

And the Cottages have been asked to take on their EFL Cup finalists on Wednesday, January 13 but that decision didn't go down well with the 40-year-old.

However, the Portuguese-born tactician believes the show must continue if they must align with the rest of Europe by the time the season wraps up. He told the media ahead of the meeting as reported by SunSport:

“Do you want to finish the season or not? Do you want football to keep going or not? Do you want to be the only country in Europe without football or not?
"Do we want the end of the season with champions, cup winners, relegation and with Europe, or we don’t? That’s the main question.
“Do you football journalists want to keep working or not? Do we want to have our salaries, yes or no? “What do we want?
“Come on, let’s play football. Let’s behave the best we can. Let’s protect our industry. Let’s protect our image and let’s play football.”

Parker claims had he known his club would be called into action this midweek he would have fielded a different line-up in their FA Cup third-round tie at QPR on Saturday.

However, following their return from Covid, he made seven changes and played a number of fringe players as they won 2-0 after extra time in what was their first match since Boxing Day.

Mourinho is likely to recall most of his starters who were rested for Sunday’s 5-0 FA Cup win at non-league Marine for this meeting.

Legit.ng earlier reported that Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho has made out-of-favour Real Madrid defender Eder Militao his prime target this transfer window.

The 22-year-old joined Los Blancos from the Portuguese side FC Porto in a deal valued around £43 million in 2019.

However, he has failed to meet expectations as Zinedine Zidane is not impressed with the Brazilian star.
