Busted: How we sold stolen cars for N400,000, suspect reveals

One of the suspected "hardened criminals" arrested by the operatives of the Nigeria police has confessed to stealing cars and reselling them for as low as N400,000.

The suspect, whose name was not given, made this shocking revelation while being paraded by the men of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) under the leadership and command of Inspector-General Adamu Mohammed in Abuja.

According to him, a Toyota Camry car which was stolen at gunpoint was sold for N400,000, while another car, Corona Spider, was sold for N600,000.

Speaking at the parade of the suspected criminals, Frank Mba, now a former police public relation officer, said the force remains committed to pursuing its constitutional mandate and responsibilities of protecting lives and properties.

"Within the first two weeks of the new year, a total of 18 hardened suspects were arrested by the operatives of the Special Tactical Squad (STS) in collaboration with IRS.
"Nine assorted weapons consisting of 8 AK-47 rifles and one machine gun were recovered. A total of 236 AK-47 ammunition, 8 AK-47 magazines and other incriminating items were recovered within the first two weeks."

Mba also presented the case of a 32-year-old notorious kidnapper specialising in terrorising citizens along Kaduna Lokoja highway and other neighbouring states like Nasarawa.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Odume Princess, a corps member serving in Akwa Ibom, was arrested by the state police command for allegedly hacking an unidentified man said to be her boyfriend to death with a machete.

The corps member, who is said to be a graduate of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu state was arrested on Sunday, January 11, while trying to flee the scene of the incident.

A Facebook user, Godwin George, had in a post on Sunday said Princess was arrested at Abak road after being mobbed, "beaten to a stupor" and stripped naked by a large crowd while trying to escape through the fence after hacking her alleged boyfriend.
