Former Nigerian international Ifeanyi Udeze has lamented the treatment meted out to former Super Eagles star Odion Ighalo at English club Manchester United.

According to the former defender, Ighalo’s situation at the Premier League club is becoming an insult following the 31-year-old’s lack of playing time.

Ighalo’s who had a sensational start at the Old Trafford club scoring five goals in his first four starts has found it hard to break into the first team under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Despite the manager stating that the Nigerian will be involved during their FA Cup clash against the player's former club Watford, he was yet again benched, a situation that infuriated Udeze.

He said on Brila FM, as cited in Complete Sports:

“I think Ighalo’s situation at Manchester United is now an insult. That he could not even still play in the FA Cup shows the amount of insult he is being subjected to at the club.
“This is someone who doesn’t get to play in the Premier League and now he cannot even play in the Cup game after the coach said he will be involved.
“For me I believe Ighalo is still a very good player who can contribute a lot to United so he shouldn’t allow what is happening now affect him. Thank God we are in January now so he should review his situation at United and make a decision.”
