Frank Lampard has come to the strong defence Timo Werner and Kai Havertz using Eden hazard as an example for their dip in form.

The Germans were on target during Chelsea's 4-0 win over Morecambe in their 3rd Round FA cup clash at Stamford Bridge.

Werner ended his 13 matches without a goal while Havertz has continued to struggle after recovering from coronavirus earlier in the season.

But after their 4th Round qualification in the FA Cup, Lampard believes Werner and Havertz should be given more time just like they did for Hazard.

Lampard told talkSPORT and quoted by Mirror:

“The people that question them should look at other top players that have come at a young age to this country.
“Eden Hazard being a great example. He came here and became one of our greatest players ever.
“It’s not an easy transition to this league. It’s a hard league and I think people that question them should give them time because they are great lads and we signed them for now and the future.
“I understand the questions as it’s the world we live in. They will prove to be big players for the club.”

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Chelsea qualified into the 4h Round of the FA cup with ease following the 4-0 win over League Two side Morecambe.

The Blues scored two goals in each half of the game including Mason Mount, Timo Werner, Callum Husdon Odoi and Kai Havertz.

Chelsea almost went behind after a Marecombe player tried to catch Kepa Arrizabalaga unawares after spotting the Spanish goalie off his line.

Legit.ng also reported that Frank Lampard's job is currently on the line following his poor strings of result and the English boss has told his players to either be with or against him, The Sun.

The Chelsea manager is concerned about players who only want to stick with him through the difficult times the team is presently facing.

The Blues will be coming up against League Two side Morecambe in the third round of the FA Cup and the west London club are expected to go past their opponents with ease.
