Mason Mount could not hide his feeling but like a photo of Declan Rice wearing a royal blue shirt which has been spotted by Chelsea fans, Sport Bible.
The west London club have been linked with the West Ham midfielder but failed to land the youngster in last summer transfer window.
Mount and Rice are have been close friends since their days in Chelsea academy and both players have always shown their closeness on the field of play.
The Blues midfielder recently 'liked' an edited picture of Rice in royal blue which had raised the question if the England international would join the Stamford Bridge outfit
One fan said:
"Watched a couple West Ham games Bc I was skeptical as well, but he's a solid player. Chemistry with the team wouldn't be a problem, and he's young like the core of the team.
"Would be nice to have when Kante is getting older or if we wanted a double pivot. I doubt it'll happen in January though for a reasonable fee."
A second added:
"He's already a pretty good young CDM already captaining a PL team aged 21, established England."
A third said:
"Can't believe people still don't rate Rice. Actually baffles me."
Meanwhile, reports from Daily Mail claims Rice has reportedly told his friends he is not interested in making a move to Manchester United but prefers a transfer back to Chelsea.
Rice left Chelsea when he was 14-year-old and it is understood he would love to reunite with his boyhood club.
A source close to the player said:
"Dec has been flattered by interest in him but he doesn't see himself moving to Manchester. It's obvious where he'd like his next move to be."
Rice is under contract with West Ham until 2024 and the club value him at a huge £80million.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Frank Lampard's job is currently on the line following his poor strings of result and the English boss has told his players to either be with or against him, The Sun.
The Chelsea manager is concerned about players who only want to stick with him through the difficult times the team is presently facing.
The Blues will be coming up against League Two side Morecambe in the third round of the FA Cup and the west London club are expected to go past their opponents with ease.
