- Frank Lampard has bluntly told his players to work for him or against him
- Chelsea have lost four of their last six matches which puts Lampard under pressure
- The Blues will play their FA Cup third round clash against League Two side Morecambe
Frank Lampard's job is currently on the line following his poor strings of result and the English boss has told his players to either be with or against him, The Sun.
The Chelsea manager is concerned about players who only want to stick with him through the difficult times the team is presently facing.
The Blues will be coming up against League Two side Morecambe in the third round of the FA Cup and the west London club are expected to go past their opponents with ease.
Chelsea are on a run of four defeats from six games and with pressure mounting on Lampard, the former Derby County boss said:
“Players who are not playing shouldn’t be happy.
“I don’t expect it to be a popularity contest for myself. But all I ask is for them to train well, back your team-mate and have a determined attitude every day. That’s it.
"If there are players that don’t have that, then they have decisions to make. If there are opportunities for them to leave it will have to be right for them, right for the club and for myself, then that can happen.”
Lampard refused to comment on players leaving the club during the January window but has added some academy youngsters to train with the first team.
N'Golo Kante, Andreas Christensen and Reece James could be out of the fixture due to their respective injury problems.
Lampard could rest several first team players ahead of their upcoming Premier League clash with Fulham on Friday, January 15, 2020.
The Blues who were serious contenders for the title at the start of the season have slipped to ninth on the log.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had earlier reported that Chelsea have reportedly identified Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl as a possible replacement for under pressure Frank Lampard.
Lampard has come under fire in recent weeks after leading the Blues to a poor run of form which has seen them plummet to ninth on the league standings.
The west London side have picked just one win seven of their last fixtures in all competitions sparking speculation the Englishman could earn the sack.
