WAEC confirms January 29 as deadline for 2021 WASSCE registration

The deadline for the registration of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates, 2021 is now January 29.

Vanguard reports that the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) Nigeria stated this on Saturday, January 9.

Legit.ng gathered that this was disclosed by the WAEC head of public affairs, Demianus Ojijeogu, who confirmed that the report from its zonal WAEC office, Benin City, Edo state that announced the deadline for this year’s WASSCE was true.

He said:

“The West African Examinations Council invites potential candidates to register for the West African Senior School Certificate Examination ( WASSCE) for private candidates, 2021-First Series.

“Registration pins and information CDs can be obtained at WAEC office, Aduwawa Benin city, banks and accredited agents. Entry closes on January 29th, 2021. The registration fee is N3, 950,00.
“The public announcement is from our WAEC zonal offices, Benin City, Edo state. This information applies to Nigerians who want to sit for WASSCE this year. And the pin can be gotten from any WAEC office nearest to them."

Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that a Nigerian man identified as Olumuyiwa Igbalajobi took to social media to inspire his followers as he recounted how he wrote O-level exams ten times before finally making his papers.

It was reported that the man with the Twitter handle @olumuyiwaayo said he had F9 parallel in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination in 2002.

He said achieving the academic feat was not easy, adding that he left his MSc programme in Nigeria six months to the end and started all over in Korea for another three years.

In another report, a Nigerian teenager, Victory Yinka-Banjo, had an amazing year of great results in all her examinations as she finished her secondary school education in December.

On her LinkedIn page, the smart girl said that she sat for IELTS, JAMB UTME, IGSSE. She added that in all the exams she had a 99% success.

Victory, however, said out of all the exams she passed, she would like to talk more about her 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) as the exam body withheld her results.
