The head of the House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, has announced the death of one of his ministers, Pastor Yinka Akinbami.

The news of the sudden demise of the late pastor was shared on social media by Pastor Paul Adefarasin via Instagram and Twitter.

Saddened by the death of the pastor, Adefarasin said that the deceased was a senior pastor who had been with the church for over 25 years.

While alive, Pastor Akinbami served in the Family Life Directorate, where he coached many exemplary men and women as they embarked upon the journey of building families.

Calling him egbon as they were very close, the head pastor of the church revealed that despite being younger than the deceased, he called him pastor and they were very close.

Pastor Paul asks that people should pray for the family he left behind while he sensitizes Nigerians that COVID-19 is real and the general public should take precautionary measures.

The post on Twitter generated many reactions especially from people who had had contact with the deceased cleric.

@akinolu_oyegun wrote: "This is so painful. Pastor Akinbami handled our pre-marital counseling sessions in his house in 2005. He was indeed a nobleman with a great heart and deep convictions about marriage according to the biblical injunctions."

@lelsang wrote: "Hard to believe I won't be bumping fist and high fiving with you anymore my dearest pastor Akinbami. You were a good Man a very good Man can't imagine you won't be posting barns for me, God comfort your family"

Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Nigerian comedian, Ali Baba, urged the federal government to postpone the Nationa Identification Number (NIN) registration going on in the country over the recent surge in COVID-19 cases.

The comedian stressed that whatever purpose the government desires to achieve with the registration process can be achieved after the pandemic might have been put under control.
