Explainer: Biden's victory confirmed because Trump lacks evidence of rigging
On Thursday, January 7, the Electoral College victory of President-elect Joe Biden was confirmed and certified by the United States' Congress amid objections and protests by both Republican politicians and supporters of the incumbent leader, Donald Trump.

The confirmation of the Senate and the House of Congress came on the heels of the counting by Vermont's three electoral votes which gave both Biden and Kamala Harris the 270-threshold needed to take over the White House.
The process, as expected in a democratic setting, met with opposition and objections from pro-Trump senators as some called for the dismissal of electoral votes from states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Nevada, and Michigan which were decisively claimed by Biden.
However, these objections were rejected during the debate and the counting on the basis that the votes have been proven to be valid.

Moreover, Biden got the legislature's nod as there was no evidence to back up claims from the opposing Republican party that the presidential election was rigged as claimed.

Before now, Trump had alleged that the voting counting processes were delayed as part of the ploy to oust him from office unconstitutionally.
After the election, Legit.ng reported at the time that President Trump released a bombshell. The outgoing US leader in a tweet on Monday, December 14, questioned why vote counting was stopped in some states in the middle of the night.
He alleged that the authorities waited to find out how many ballots they had to produce in order to steal the rigged election.
He tweeted:
“Why did the Swing states stop counting in the middle of the night? Because they waited to find out how many ballots they had to produce in order to steal the rigged election.
"They were so far behind that they needed time, & a fake “water main break”, to recover!"
