- Though he lost to Biden, Trump said he would win if his deputy, Pence, refuses to certify the votes at the Congress

- The vice president has, however, reportedly said he has no constitutional power to do what the president wants

Donald Trump, the president of the United States has revealed his last hope of fulfilling his second term ambition even as he lost the popular and electoral college votes to his Democratic Party's challenger, Joe Biden.

In a tweet he posted on Wednesday, January 6, President Trump said he will win the presidency if his deputy, Vice President Mike Pence, "comes through" for him.

He claimed that many states want to decertify the votes just as he said the vice president has the power to send the votes back to the states instead of certifying them.

His tweet:

"If Vice President @Mike_Pence comes through for us, we will win the Presidency. Many States want to decertify the mistake they made in certifying incorrect & even fraudulent numbers in a process NOT approved by their State Legislatures (which it must be). Mike can send it back!"

Legit.ng notes that President Trump is asking his deputy not to certify Biden's victory at the Congressional counting and certifications of votes which is ongoing at the time of filing this report.

However, Vice President Pence has reportedly told him that the plan will not be possible, saying he has no authority to block the certification.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that 12 Republican senators were supporting the US president in his bid to block the certification.

The lawmakers wanted a commission to investigate the allegations of electoral fraud raised by President Trump, despite the fact that most of the lawsuits filed by the president have been thrown out for lacking merit.
