Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil is reportedly in negotiations with MLS side DC United as the American football team wants the playmaker to become the face of the club

UK outlet SunSport are reporting that the German is now in advanced talks with officials of the club having been out of favour under Mikel Arteta.

With his contract set to lapse in the summer, Ozil is now free to begin negotiations with other clubs and are reporting that an attractive package has been offered to the midfielder by the US based club.

Details of the deal stipulated that Ozil’s M10 brand will be expanded around the states as his '39 Steps Coffee' would also be distributed around their Audi Field Stadium.

The American side are convinced that the German can be the 'face of their club' moving forward.

They also plan to release a full Ozil merchandise line.

Arsenal's former talisman hasn't played in ten months, having been frozen out by boss Mikel Arteta.

Ozil failed to make the Spaniard's 25-man Premier League or Europa League squads, but remains a vocal cheerleader for his team-mates on social media.

This is coming barely three days that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has disclosed that he will finally decide whether to bring in Mesut Ozil to the Premier League squad or not, as soon as the January transfer window ends.

The German midfielder was dropped out of the team’s squads for the Premier League as well as the Europa League.

And following poor run of matches in the English top-flight, there are calls for the ‘assist-master’ to be recalled into the squad when they have the chance to do so.

Meanwhile, earlier reported that Mikel Arteta is reportedly planning to offer Norwich City two Arsenal youngsters in a swap deal for Emiliano Buendia during the January transfer window.

The North London club is currently enjoying a resurgent form in the Premier League having won their last three games.

And these outcomes have helped them move away from the relegation zone with 23 points from 17 league games so far this campaign.
