Nigerian star Samuel Chukwueze came off the bench to inspire Villarreal to their first win of the New Year.

The 21-year-old who started the game from the bench was introduced into the game at the start of the second half.

And nine minutes later, he provided an assist for Gerard Moreno's 54th-minute strike - a goal which ended up becoming the winner and they claimed a 2-1 win over Levante in the end.

Fer Nino opened the scoring for the hists just after 19 minutes of action with Alfonso Pedraza bagging the assist for the opener.

Legit.ng earlier reported Super Eagles star Samuel Chukwueze has supported Abia state-based grassroots football club Super Stars with sporting equipment said to be worth millions of naira.

The Villarreal of Spain winger made the donation through his mother Sarah on Thursday, December 17, as part of his efforts to support grassroots football, according to Complete Sports.

It was gathered that Chukwueze had played for the club at a tender age and according to president of the academy Victor Apugo, the materials donated by the player are high grade, as he expresses gratitude to the gesture.
