Award-winning Nigerian writer Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, recently talked about how she handled distractions growing up and what she did on realising that she wanted to become a writer.
In an interview with celebrated tv host, Ebuka on Bounceradiolive on Instagram, she stated that boys had never been a distraction because she knew exactly what she was doing.

Adichie also revealed that she was very clear-eyed about what she wanted to do, which was writing, and has always had an incredible sense of ambition
She also added that she has always been willing to work towards her goal of being a writer.
The celebrated author further that she however was open to love happening but she knew she would not move away from what she imagined was her life goal.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that Chimamanda Adichie's novel, Half of a Yellow Sun, won best book to have won Women's Prize for Fiction.
In a report by BBC, the widely read piece of art was chosen in a public vote of more than 8,500 people. Out of the 25 books that have won the prize, Adiche's novel was voted the best.
