As people all over the world celebrate Christmas, messages of hope and goodwill have been pouring in.

Nigerian politicians were not left out as they have felicitated with the people on the occasion of Christmas.

Message from Governor Wike

In his goodwill message shared on Twitter, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state urged the people to deepen their faith in God this season, saying He has the solution to all problems.

Message from Enugu governor

On his part, the Enugu state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, prayed for Nigeria to overcome the rampaging coronavirus and the economic recession. He also advised Nigerians to lose their faith in God during the trying times.

Message from Lagos governor

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos state described this year's Christmas celebration as an unusual one which will demand that people give up all acts that can increase community spread of the coronavirus.

He prayed for more Christmas celebrations in good health and more prosperity in the years to come.

Message from Governor Zulum

The Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum, called for a sober reflection on how frontline soldiers, volunteers, IDPs, refugees mark Christmas day. He wished everyone a peaceful, joyful and blessed Christmas festival.

The governor also prayed for lasting peace in Borno and Nigeria at large.

Messsage from Governor Abiodun

The governor of Ogun state, Dapo Abiodun, said a word of prayer for the coming year to be better.

Part of his message read:

"Let's be cheerful, benevolent, grateful for surviving the unforeseen pandemic, and moderate in celebration."

Meanwhile, former Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan felicitated with Nigerians on the occasion of Christmas.

In a post on his Facebook handle, the former Nigerian leader noted that 2020 has been a tough year, especially having to deal with the dreaded and deadly coronavirus pandemic.
