In the spirit of coexistence, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in the southeast region of the country has greeted and felicitated with Christians.
The greeting was contained in a statement by the organisation's southeast zone leader, Malam Gidado Siddiki, on Thursday, December 24, Premium Times reports.
Siddiki urged the Christians in the region and southeast to follow the path of Jesus Christ and imbibe in his teaching on peaceful coexistence.
The cattle rearers' association also said it welcomed "our brothers back to their home states."
Part of the statement read:
"It is yet another special time when our Christian brothers and sisters from the Southeast travel home in their numbers from across the world for Christmas.
“The members of MACBAN in the zone heartily pray for journey mercy to those that will be embarking on one journey or the other within this period."
Speaking on the security and other challenges the country is facing, MACBAN commended Nigeria's resilience and expressed optimism in the country sailing through its numerous hurdles.
While thanking the host states and communities, the association prayed that "2021 guarantees all of us greater life, good health, prosperity and unity in God’s name."
"We appreciate them for exhibiting exemplary lesson in brotherhood among the various tribes in Nigeria. We shall continue to pray for a better country where rights and privileges will be equitably spread,: MACBAN also said.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that Governor Bello Masari of Katsina revealed that the members of Miyetti Allah were responsible for the release of the Kankara boys.
Governor Masari, however, denied claims that the state government paid a ransom in cash to secure the boys' freedom.
Speaking on how the abducted students were freed, the governor explained that the military, the police, his special senior adviser on security, Mallam Ibrahim Katsina, and the MACBAN were directly involved in the process.
