According to SunSport, the 48-year-old will be announced once the details of his deal along with his backroom staff have been sorted.

Tuchel was fired by the French champions despite qualifying them for the Champions League knockout phase. He spent two and a half years in charge of the Parc Des Princes.

The 47-year-old's last game as the coach of the club ended in a 4-0 win over Strasbourg as they move one point behind Ligue 1 log leaders, Lyon and Lille. And that was however not enough to save the German manager.

PSG finished atop of their Champions League group and will face Barcelona in their knockout stage when the knockout stages kick off in February.

Tuchel was sacked after making a joke granting an interview that his works are undervalued at the club. Speaking to Canal +, Tuchel said:

"I didn't say it's more about politics than sport, nor that I lost the fun of training. This is not true. It is possible they translated incorrectly.

Latest reports from Germany have it that the 47-year-old is set to be replaced by former Tottenham manager, Mauricio Pochettino.

The decision to part ways with the German manager came hours after the French champions smashed four goals past Racing Strasbourg, which saw them close the gap to Ligue 1 leaders Lyon.
