Men say they stole car to afford music feature with Davido, Runtown

- A 23-year-old man, Dare Williams, recently made the news after snatching a car from a ride-hailing service driver

- Dare said that he committed the act to be able to further his music career

News recently made the rounds of one Dare Williams, 23, who stole a car from a taxi-hailing service driver at knife point.

According to reports from The Nation, the young man convinced his friend, 18-year-old Bethel Chukwuocha, to join him as they snatched the car from the driver, one Clement Aniegbe, on Monday, December 21.

They reportedly committed the act after threatening the driver with a knife and sedatives. He was made to leave his car and mobile phone behind.

The young men had ordered a ride from Lekki area of Lagos state to Gbagada. Williams revealed after he was arrested that he did it in a bid to afford music features with either Runtown or Davido.

He added that he had planned to sell the vehicle for N1m and use the funds to further his music ambition.

The commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu, while parading the suspects said that they had used a knife and substances suspected to be sedatives to weaken the driver. He added that the culprits claimed to be students of the Federal College of Education, Yaba-Lagos.

He added that they were arrested by police detectives on their routine patrol and that the case had been transferred to the state CID for further investigation.

In other news, earlier reported that a Kano-based musician, Rarara, recently came under fire for featuring a married woman in his music video.

According to reports, Rarara allegedly used one 20-year-old married woman, Maryam Muhammad, in his video for the song titled JAHATA JAHATA TACE. It was also said that a Sharia court was asked to probe the singer as a result of it.

It was gathered that Maryam’s husband, Abdulkadir Inuwa, filed the lawsuit and claimed that the singer had eloped with his wife. Further reports however claimed that Maryam had abandoned her husband in his home not long after their wedding only for him to sight her in the music video with the singer.
