The coronavirus pandemic grabbed front pages of newspapers across the world including Nigeria, however, there were local events involving celebrities that overshadowed the reportage of the deadly infection.

This year, a number of celebrities made headlines for one reason or the other.

1. Ada Ameh

The Nollywood actress announced the death of her only daughter in October. From the death and final burial of the deceased, the media covered the sad story.

2. Temi Otedola

The fashion blogger made her acting debut in Citation, a Kunle Afolayan movie and her performance got media attention.

3. Dbanj

The singer allegedly assaulted a lady and the news lingered for many months, which got the media's attention.

The Fuji singer made headlines when he was accused of having an affair with one of Alaafin of Oyo's wives called Olori Badirat Ajoke.

Just this month, the singers were arrested in Uganda following an outcry by Ugandan artistes who called out the police in their country for allowing foreign artistes to hold events while the locals are denied.

The Nollywood actress was arrested by the police during the lockdown after she organised a birthday party for her husband at their estate.

7. Queen Ola

The Alaafin of Oyo's wife walked away from her marriage with the monarch. She noted that she willingly left the palace and no one chased her against popular opinion.

The Ye crooner got a second Grammy nomination for his recent album Twice As Tall under the Best Global Music Album.

10. 9ice

The singer became the talk of the town when a video of him cheating on his wife hit the internet.

In other news, Legit.ng earlier reported that Funke Akindele shared gangster birthday photos to celebrate her 43rd birthday.

In one of the photos, the mother of two was seen rocking a pair of ripped black jeans, animal skin shoes, a fanny pack and close-cropped hair dyed gold.

The second photo was not too different as she also continued with the gangster style. She wore denim dungarees and a denim jacket, boots, and a small bag.
