Manchester United legend Roy Keane has been hailed by world boxing champion Anthony Joshua who claimed that the Irishman would have been a great boxer if he never played football.

Roy Keane is the joint-most successful Irish footballer of all time, having won 19 major trophies, 17 of which came at Premier League giants Manchester United.

During his active playing time in the Premier League, Roy Keane was a no nonsense player on the pitch considering his styles of play.

After retiring from football, Roy Keane decided to become a football pundit and he has been doing well in the studio.

According to the report on Daily Star, Anthony Joshua was asked to pick a player he thinks would have been a great boxer in which the Nigerian went for Roy Keane.

“If I was to pick a footballer who could make a great boxer, Roy Keane.
“Manchester United need someone like him, to get in there and say it how it is, doesn't take any nonsense. In boxing, that's the type of person you need to have.''

Roy Keane actually used to box at a young age and was said to be unbeaten as a schoolboy in his hometown of Cork.

Meanwhile, Manchester United have not been impressive this season in all competitions which has mount serious pressure on Ole Solskjaer.

Former Tottenham manager Pochettino has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
