Premier League giants Tottenham have qualified for the semifinal of this season's Carabao Cup after beating Championship side Stoke City 3-1 on Wednesday night, December 23.

Tottenham went into this game with the hope of getting a win following their disappointing result against Liverpool and Leicester City in the Premier League.

Gareth Bale scored the first goal for Tottenham in this Carabao Cup encounter in the 22nd minute after getting a superb pass from Harry Kane.

Earlier, Legit.ng had reported how Tottenham Hotspur suffered third Premier League defeat of the season following their 2-0 loss to Leicester City in their own stadium.

A goal from Jamie Vardy and an own goal from Toby Alderweireld powered Brendan Rodgers men to victory away from home.

The North Londoners have now slipped to fifth on the table with 25 points after 14 games - putting their title chase under serious problem.

However, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho has now blamed his side's loss on poor performance after admitting that he is frustrated.
