Two second-half goals from Casemiro and Karim Benzema helped Real Madrid beat stubborn Granada in a tough Spanish League encounter at the Santiago Bernabeu.
The victory means coach Zinedine Zidane's men maintain their 100 percent record in the last month of the year having won all five La Liga games they have played so far in December.
Los Blancos broke the deadlock for the first time in the game three minutes before the hour mark through an unstoppable header after connecting with a superb cross from Marco Asensio.
The hosts looked more purposeful in the second half having being held to a goalless draw in the opening half.
They pressured their visitors for more goals having opened the scoring with about 30 minutes left to play but it looked like nothing was going to happen again.
However, after making several efforts, Benzema finally found the back of the net in added minutes after powering a long-range shot from 20 yards out.
The Frenchman continued to rack up the numbers for the Galacticos after receiving a precise pass from Isco before driving past two Granada players and then unleashed the shot when the coast was clear.
Zidane's men are now second on the table with 32 points - the same as their rivals Atletico Madrid who have played two games less.
Real will travel to Elche and battle Jorge Almiron's men in their last game of the year 2020 on Wednesday, December 30 with the aim of remaining invisible all through the 12th month.
Legit.ng earlier reported that Karim Benzema inspired Real Madrid to a 3-1 triumph over Eibar in their Spanish League encounter over the weekend.
The Frenchman's sixth-minute strike took his tally to seven goals and five assists in 12 league appearances so far this campaign.
Luka Modric and Lucas Vasquez also scored a goal each to hand the visitors the crucial win that propelled them to second on the log.
