The Osun state government has announced that free train rides will be made available for its indigenes in Lagos who will be travelling home for Christmas and New Year celebrations.
This is contained in a statement signed by the state's commissioner for commerce, industry, cooperatives and empowerment, Dr. Bode Olaonipekun, and sighted by Legit.ng on Wednesday, December 23.
For those going home for Christmas celebration, the free train ride will depart Iddo railway terminus in Lagos on Thursday, December 24, at 10am.
For the New Year trip, the train will depart Iddo terminus on Wednesday, December 30, also at 10am.
The free train ride will return to Lagos on Saturday, January 2, 2021, departing from Osogbo railway terminus to Iddo by 10am and 2pm.
The commissioner urged all Osun indigenes in Lagos to avail themselves of the free rail service and strictly observe the COVID-19 protocols.

According to him and the snapshot of his ticket, a ride from the Yaba station in Lagos to Moniya in Ibadan cost a sum of N2,500.
