It was gathered that armed men blocked the road, and robbed some travellers. The suspects abducted four people, including the policeman who was dressed in mufti.

An eyewitness narrating the incident said the abducted officer came out from the bush while policemen who were mobilised to the scene were making enquiries.

According to the witness, the policeman told his uniformed colleagues that he was able to escape from the kidnapper's den after overpowering one of them.

He, however, sustained an injury on his forehead when one the abductors threw a cutlass that hit and wounded him while running.

Though the incident was confirmed by a source in the ministry, ASP Ramhan Nansel, the spokesperson of the police command in Nasarawa said investigations have begun into the matter.
