A woman identified as Billie Ward was feeling tummy pain and thought she needed to make use of the bathroom. On a second thought, she felt it was her baby that was ready to make her arrival, and she called the emergency line.
Billie said she was told it wasn't a poo that was coming but a baby, The Sun reports.
According to the woman, she had been told before then that it was unlikely she would give birth on her due date.
Billie's husband, Josh, called his mother-in-law to come over as the couple didn't know the next line of action. According to the woman, the pain became more agonising and her waters had still not broken.
The woman gave birth in her bathroom five minutes after the medical team arrived. Paramedics arrived at 5.05am and Billie gave birth at 5.10am.
The first-time mum advised pregnant women not to go to the hospital too early or go too late, adding that giving birth at home comes with a lot of cleaning after the baby has arrived.
In her words:
"Don't go to hospital too early - but definitely don't leave it too late. It's a mess you don't want to be cleaning up. The number of towels we went through was insane.
"It was the most amazing experience of my life - so much so I'm planning a second home birth."
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that a mother-of-four who did not know she was pregnant said she gave birth to a healthy baby girl in the toilet.
Grace Meachin said the birth of her last born was during the period her husband was on the waiting list for a vasectomy.
She said she had no discernible bump, was taking her pill 'religiously' and still had periods.
