The Lagos state government has given an update on Governor Babjide Sanwo-Olu's rate of recovery from COVID-19 which he contracted recently.
The state government on Monday, December 21, informed Lagosians that the governor is not just doing very well medically at the moment but is also stable, Punch reports.
The announcement was made by Sanwo-Olu's chief press secretary, Gboyega Akosile, who also sent his principal's appreciation to the people of the state for their support and prayers.
The governor's CPS noted that he is expected to come back from isolation and resume his duties very soon.
“I am happy to inform you that the Governor of Lagos, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, is much better. He is, however, still in isolation and receiving home-based care.
“We are waiting for a complete clearance of the virus so that Mr Governor can resume public activities.
“We wish to thank Lagos residents and the general public for their prayers and well wishes for our dear governor and Lagos state COVID-19 Incident commander.”
Earlier, an important update about he was fairing had been released by the Lagos state health ministry.
According to a tweet by the commissioner for health in Lagos, Akin Abayomi, Governor Sanwo-Olu is responding well to treatment. Abayomi stated that the governor is getting adequate medical attention in self-isolation at his official residence.
The commissioner added that Sanwo-Olu is in high spirit and full of gratitude for prayers on his behalf from well-meaning Lagosians.
